(Yes; I was up all night making a banner just for this =д=;')
I'd love members opinions on this, so please;
if you would kindly comment and let us know what you think
so we can get your personal feed back on this~ :aww:
Please don't be afraid to voice your opinion.
We are all really friendly here
and value every persons opinion equally.


The latest contest was rather jumbled
as alot more people entered than I expected.
It's been a very big learning experience for me
which is odd because I took control of the last contest
and really it was very simple and straight forward,
there were no bumps or any hiccups at all.
This time around it was very bumpy and messy.
But I know now what needs to be done and how I can
organize the next event alot easier and faster
so it's cleaner for everyone.

The changes are as follows-
:bulletpink: We are no longer going to be accepting old deviations.
If you want to submit a deviation to the contest
it will have to be a new deviation made specifically for the event.

:bulletpurple: I will be limiting it to one enrty per deviant.
That should keep the numbers down so the polls will be less messy
(That's if the poll idea is still in play by then).

POLLS
Even though since the beginning we have been using
polls from the begining to determine the winner of our contests,
it has come to my attention that a few new members
(and some old ones)
would preffer it if the Admin decided on the winners.

I would like you to comment please as to whether you would like
our future contests to be voted by either:
A. You, the public.
or
B. The admins.

I would make a poll about it but it kind of seems a bit redundant
to make a poll about polls... ^^;

A new contest is on the rise and will be up and running
within the next two months.

Hmm...question for the group...when people suggest pics to add to the gallery, and the pic in question is a commissioned request...does the person need to request permission from the artist AND person who requested and paid for the pic?

I ask because I spotted one of my older commission requests added and I got no word about it, until it appeared in my message centre. Since I paid for it, I should be able to have some say about things, right? This isn't the first time this has happened, so I'm curious.

This is an issue between artist and commissioner that is usually discussed prior to commissioning.
I believe if the commissioner gives the artist rights to post their art on deviantART then it it allowed to be displayed in numerous groups or wherever the artist sees fit.
If the commissioner paid for it as a -private- commission then it wouldn't be posted to deviantART and simply emailed/sent to the commissioner for their own personal use.
If you wished for it to be private and not shared with the deviantART community then it is imperative to tell the artist upfront while you are discussing the commission. :)

commissions are generally viewed as shared property between the artist and the commissioner, as long as there is no explicit agreement stating that the artist may not use the piece or the commissioner can't sell the piece then the shared property still holds and either are free to do with the piece as they wish
if you have a problem with it being displayed in the group contact applesin and tell her you do not wish for that piece to be submitted to groups
would you like me to remove it from gallery? it's quite a nice art
